Dr. Akin Oluwole

Dr. Akin Oluwole is a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular surgeon at Nottingham University Teaching Hospitals, Nottingham, UK and a visiting vascular surgeon at Cedarcrest Hospital Lagos. He has got over 18 years’ experience in Vascular Surgery.

He graduated from the University of Lagos before proceeding to the UK for further postgraduate studies.

As a vascular surgeon, Dr. Oluwole has got experience in the treatment of all vascular conditions with special interest in minimally invasive radio frequency closure techniques for varicose veins and endovascular keyhole aneurysm repair. He developed and leads the complex endovascular aneurysm repair programme in Nottingham, UK.

He also has expertise in carotid surgery for stroke prevention and early recovery, bypass surgery for blocked arteries that cause gangrene, and management of diabetic foot disease and leg ulcers in general.

Since 2015, Dr. Oluwole has carried out many minimally invasive varicose vein surgery at Cedarcrest Hospitals Lagos and Abuja, with excellent results. He has also treated many leg ulcers,

and carried out many carotid surgeries and bypass  surgeries to treat gangrene. In conjunction with a Consultant Interventionist Radiologist, he has also carried out many angioplasties, fibroid embolisations, endovascular aneurysm repair, and other complex endovascular procedures.

He is actively involved in education and teaching, and has taught vascular surgery in Nigeria, UK and several other African and Asian countries.
