Dr Olagbalekan Solanke was born and raised and in the UK. He completed his higher secondary education in Nigeria and proceeded to the University Of Lagos College Of Medicine for his undergraduate training. His preliminary post graduate education in Anaesthesia was also completed at the University of Lagos Teaching Hospital.
For his fellowship in Anaesthesia he returned to London where he did a rotation at the North-East Thames which was run by the North-East Thames deanery whose lead hospital was St. Barts and the Royal London Trauma Hospital.
He also completed a two year rotation as a GP across medical specialties in Northern Scotland.
He returned to Nigeria as a trainer at the National Hospital Abuja and the Federal Medical Centre Abuja. Since 2011 he has been an examiner for the West African College of Surgeons.
His specialties include geriatric anaesthesia, ICU and obstetric anaesthesia.
He has pulled from his 45 years of experience a wealth of knowledge in clinical practice to educate doctors and develop Anaesthesia practice in Nigeria.
